What can scrotum ultrasound tell?
Testicle development and capacity are assessed. Various abnormalities, such as cysts, testicular neoplasms (the most common malignant tumours in young men up to 50 years of age) or inflammation can be ruled out. Varicose enlargement of testicle veins or varicocele can be assessed to determine whether there are indications for surgery. The procedure is painless and harmless.
At iVF Riga, the procedure is performed by the Head of the iVF Riga Andrology and Urology Centre Dr. Med. Juris Ērenpreiss who has completed specialised training at the Florence and Rome University Hospitals.
