Egg Donor and Sperm Donor – Help That Changes Lives

Over the past five years, the number of donor programs has decreased by 45%. This trend suggests that scientific and technological advances may help solve fertility issues without donor material. However, donation remains an important option. So what exactly is a donor?

It’s important to mention that Egg and Sperm Donation in Latvia is completely anonymous. Recipients cannot meet the donor, view photos, or access any personal information. However, they can choose a donor based on more than 20 different criteria, including age, hair and eye color, height, weight, blood type, and more.

Egg Donation – The Opportunity to Give New Life

Any healthy woman aged 20 to 34 with good physical and mental health can become an egg donor. This is an anonymous and altruistic program in which a woman donates her eggs to another woman who cannot conceive on her own but dreams of becoming a mother.

Artificial insemination using donor eggs is one of the most effective methods for treating infertility, as it uses healthy genetic material from young donors.

At iVF Riga, we offer the program “Infertility Treatment with Donor Eggs”, where each donor is selected based on the individual needs and preferences of the recipient. Our experienced patient coordinators will guide and support you at every step – from donor matching to embryo transfer and achieving pregnancy.

Sperm Donation – A Hope for Men with Infertility and Single Women

Donor sperm is used in cases when:

• Severe male infertility is diagnosed,
• There is a high risk of inherited genetic disorders,
• A man has undergone cancer treatment (chemotherapy or radiation therapy),
• Single women want to become mothers.

iVF Riga offers the program “Infertility Treatment with Donor Sperm”, using high-quality frozen sperm from local donors (iVF Riga Sperm Bank) and the European Sperm Bank.

Embryo Adoption – Another Way to Become Parents

We also offer the “Embryo Adoption Program”, where both donor eggs and donor sperm are used. The success rates of this treatment are high due to the use of healthy cells from young donors. However, in order to increase the chance of pregnancy after the first embryo transfer, all embryos intended for adoption are checked for genetic abnormalities using PGT-A method (Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy) before transferring.

In accordance with Latvian legislation, embryo donation is available to couples and single women.
